The Disney Princesses

What is the magical world of Disney without princesses?  They are the fictional female heroines who gave life and soul to The Walt Disney Company.  Each princess possesses her own beauty, her own charm, and her own character, making her unique from one another.  Such Disney princesses were given the title "princess" though some just marry the son of a king (Cinderella), marry a reigning prince (Belle), correspond to an equivalent title (Jasmine, a Sultan's daughter), or do not hold the actual title at all (Mulan).  They were officially given the title for having a primary role in a Disney animated film and for being human or closely human-like (that is, Ariel.  Tinkerbell was sadly deleted from the list for being a mythical creature).

So to continue our Disney saga, let us have a guessing game of who among the princesses sang the following lines:
1.  "Someday my prince will come
         Someday we'll meet again"

2.  "A dream is a wish your heart makes
                When you're fast asleep
In dreams you will lose your heartaches
Whatever you wish for, you keep"

3.  "I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream
I know you, the gleam in your eyes is so familiar a gleam"

4.  "When's it my turn?
Wouldn't I love, love to explore that shore up above?"

5.  "There's something sweet and almost kind
But he was mean and he was coarse and unrefined"

6.  "Unbelievable sights
Indescribable feeling
Soaring, tumbling, freewheeling
Through an endless diamond sky"

7.  "If I never knew you
I'd be safe but half as real
Never knowing I could feel
A love so strong and true"

8.  "Who is that girl I see
Staring straight
Back at me?"

9.  "I remember Daddy told me:  "Fairy tales can come true
But you gotta make 'em happen, it all depends on you"
So I work real hard each and every day
Now things for sure are going my way"

10.  "And at last I see the light
And it's like the fog has lifted
And at last I see the light
And it's like the sky is new"

11.  "I will ride, I will fly
Chase the wind and touch the sky"

And what do these princesses have in common?  Their faith in dreaming, their belief in themselves, their trust in their hearts, and the pursuit in finding their prince charming and a happily ever after!  As for my case (heto uli tayo, relate na naman sa totoong buhay), I could say that in contrary to them, I never exerted effort in doing so.  I am just so passive and look at me now, an NBSB at 31 (here we go again)!

So what's this sudden sentimentality?  Well, I just heard news today that Mr. P from this post had chosen to reside here in Ozamis to raise his family.  Oh, I should not get affected!  I don't have the right to but I can't help to get affected.  Ang laking engot ko!  I don't even like/love him.  Something like that should not get on my nerves!  Oh, why had I ever turned out to be like this?!  But thinking, it is still me to blame.  I haven't done anything to help myself out from this state.  I'm sure, I haven't worked it out.

However, I still believe that someday, somehow, it's gonna be my turn.  Love had come my way years ago but I had let it passed.  Would it ever come again?  If it did, I'm sure it will again.  OK, fine!  As God told me to wait, I'm positive that there's still that one person He had in store for me.  It is just that, my prince took the wrong turn, got lost, and is so stubborn to ask for directions!

Then my story would be like Sleeping Beauty who was just doing nothing but her prince suddenly came to wake her up in her slumber.  Oh, how I wish mine would hurry!  Princessita lang ang peg at feeling haba ng hair!  Hehehe.....By the end of the day, feeling OK pa rin ako!

Now let me just end this blog entry by giving you the answers to the guessing game above in chronological order according to the Disney Princesses' appearance to the public since 1937:

1.  Snow White of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937)
2.  Cinderella of Cinderella (1950)
3.  Aurora of Sleeping Beauty (1959)
4.  Ariel of The Little Mermaid (1989)
5.  Belle of Beauty and the Beast (1991)
6.  Jasmine of Aladdin (1992)
7.  Pocahontas of Pocahontas (1995)
8.  Mulan of Mulan (1998)
9.  Tiana of The Princess and the Frog (2009)
10. Rapunzel of Tangled (2010)
11. Merida of Brave (2012)

Now you might conclude why I had become a Disney baby!  Aside from of course, the first three and last three princesses.  Hehe...  And here are the Disney Princesses with their respective prince:

Snow White and The Prince, Ariel and Prince Eric, Tiana and Prince Naveen, Rapunzel and Flynn Rider, Cinderella and Prince Charming, Prince Phillip and Aurora, Aladdin and Jasmine, Belle and the Beast

Anyway, if you want your little girl/s to have an intimate Disney princess experience, register to Disney Star Guest Program!  In here you can give your little one/s a Star Princess Tour or a Royal Princess Dinner.  Real princesses in the flesh teach your child/children the modesty of being a real-life princess.  If I have a little girl, I would definitely give her the chance to live in a fairy tale even just for an hour or so.
