Feature Friday: Hoyohoy Highland Stone Chapel Adventure Park

Feature Friday highlights businesses, people, fashion, and basically anything under the sun!

Final exams, graduation, checking of papers, and submission of grades – it’s all over!  School is just so so OVER!!!  Now I can shout, “It’s officially SUMMER!!!  Yahoo!!!”  With Bagyong Caloy out of the Philippine area of responsibility days ago, it really is officially summer!!!  So where do we start?  Where are we going to unwind?  Where are we going to beat the heat this summer?  Well, we just have this quickest summer getaway in Misamis Occidental, the Hoyohoy Highland Stone Chapel Adventure Park, our little Baguio.

Photos Grabbed from Web
Hoyohoy is located in Tangub City which is just a 30-minute drive away from Ozamis City proper.  The adventure park started out as a highland park for family and barkada picnics with the landmark of a stone chapel.

It is overlooking the province of Misamis Occidental and its neighboring provinces, Lanao del Sur, part of Lanao del Norte, and Zamboanga del Sur.  People visit the place for its chilly atmosphere perfect for weekend family and barkada bonding which it became famous for.  Eventually, facilities were opened and now, it has become the home of the longest and highest zip-line in Asia!

Aside from zip-line, we can also enjoy their ATV ride, horseback riding, and overnight camping surrounded by the relaxing smell of aromatic pine trees.

But if you are not the cowboy type to camp outdoors, there’s also a comfortable hotel complete with amenities and facilities.  The rooms are really good but these are unlike the ones of a five-star hotel in big cities.  But for a highland-Misamis Occidental level, it exceeds our expectation of what a province hotel could be.  Anyone from all walks of life would surely be satisfied with what their hotel offers.

Additionally, Hoyohoy also has a function hall perfect for family reunions, birthday celebrations, and wedding parties!

Catering services are also offered to make any occasion a hassle-free one.  Plus, food in Hoyohoy is also commendable.  I just love their burger paired with iced tea.  It is such a delight as an afternoon snack after roaming around the scenic place.

Can’t wait any longer to go to Hoyohoy?  Tell mom and dad to spend your weekend there now!  If you are in private transpo, you can directly go there through Banadero Highway – Tangub Road.  Just take a right turn across the Tangub public restrooms (a building painted with pure white and there are dayok vendors outside) and just follow signages leading up to Hoyohoy.  Or you may also contact 09173267878 for Hoyohoy’s official transportation arrangement.  So why go to far-flung highland places like Tagaytay or Baguio just to chill this summer when we already have the same picturesque place nearby?  As I always say in every post promoting tourism in our locality, “Mahalin natin ang sariling atin”.  With this, we can promote our very own treasure through the photos we post in our social networking accounts!

Visit Hoyohoy and you’ll surely get fresh air for a fresh mind after a very stressful school year! :)

Fascino Scents @ 6!

"Fascino was born on March 24, 2008 at the very heart of Ozamiz City, Misamis Occidental.  It started out as a mere experimentation in our kitchen.  With a very small capital, I developed four scents and sold my first batch of products to friends and relatives.

Unexpectedly, people came to love the fascinating scents and recommended the products to other friends.

Then the Fascino fever began which encouraged me to develop other scents.  Now, Fascino Scents are available in fifteen (15) fascinating variants and still counting!"

And it has been whole 6 years of Fascinofying!  Praise God for another year of fruitfulness and productivity!  :) Speaking of productivity, Fascino already has more than 15 fascinating scents to date.  Aside from these 15 Fascino Originals as listed here, we had concocted the following collections to add up to our customized fragrances:

"My journey with Fascino is a typical roller coaster ride – ups and downs and mostly downs.  No, I should not say that!  I am just so thankful to God that until now, we’re still standing.  Various stores in our neighborhood had already closed down but Fascino is still open, still striving, and still spreading fascinating scents!  And all these we owe to all Fascino users who believe in our products and just couldn't do without them!  My great gratitude to all of you!  You know who you are…..:-)"

Feature Friday: Oklahoma Island Rafi's Resort

Feature Friday highlights businesses, people, fashion, and basically anything under the sun!

Planning on a summer getaway with the whole family or barkada?  Well, this one is for you!  My dear blog readers, may I present to you - Oklahoma Island Rafi's Resort!  This gem of  an island in Misamis Occidental must be in your summer wishlist this year for the following reasons:

Pristine Beach and Crystal Clear Water

As the photos show, the resort is clean and well-kept.  There is no world-class infrastructure or the likes which makes it beautiful by nature in itself.  It has a laidback atmosphere that one would surely enjoy going back to the basics!  Additionally, it is secluded and just lets you experience ragged nature in solitude.

Affordable Rates

Entrance fee to the resort is only PhP50 and that already includes the pumpboat ride to the island!   There are cottages and rooms for overnight accommodations and also an open-style mini-function hall for events.  Food in their menu has reasonable prices but you can also bring your own with a corkage fee of PhP200 only for all the food and beverages that you had brought.

Fun Nature Experience

When in Oklahoma, you can be one with nature!  You can play, swim, snorkel, or just laze around inhaling the fresh air.  The sea is just so generous with aquatic finds and I also found the place suitable for a Biology field trip.

The Bonding Moment

Should I say more?  Beautiful island, white sand beach, pumpboat ride, homey food, great people - you'll surely make the most out of your outing together! :)

The Unforgettable Journey

No matter how many times you've been to a place, it is the experience that counts.  So for us who are living here in Misamis Occidental, we may find same old places from last year since there ain't always something new.  Although we may find it already boring, just take a look at who you're with.  For this, you'll still gonna have that great adventure without stepping too far from our local roots.

The Pictorial

Of course, any outing won't end up without a pictorial!  Checking-in with photos in FB or IG would be an evidence that you were really there in that awesome place.

Visit Oklahoma Island Rafi's Resort and experience nature at its best!

How to Get There:

If from Ozamis and in private transpo, take the Ozamis-Oroquieta road.  Just follow signages up to Calamba and I guarantee that you'll never get lost with the small province that we have.

If from Ozamis and in public transpo, take a bus bound for Dipolog, drop off at Calamba, ride a motorcycle/habal-habal to the resort!

Model "Daw"

Hahaha!!!  One of my students asked me early this morning, "Ma'am, were you a model before?"  Then I went all out funny to myself!  Of course I was not and I am not!  But I am trying to become one....  Nah!  It is just that, I am not camera shy and I am not ashamed of posting my photos publicly.  Is modeling like that to you?  If that is so, check this out and judge for yourself!

I am never picture-perfect and I am never the beaut to brag!  But this is all about self-confidence that I am freely expressing and exposing!  Hehe.... In any way, anyone can be a model and anyone can be whoever he/she feels to be!  Happy pictorial, guys! :)

Tech Tuesday: Pinterest Fever

Tech Tuesday tells about the techie side of me!

I’ve been sick for days with this fever-cough-all-stressed-out-cannot-be-explained-end-of-school-year kind of sickness I suffer annually!  I have been resting a lot but I haven’t skipped school and still did storekeeping.  But for a workaholic like me, I had sacrificed dropping my extra-curricular productive activities and resorted into too much surfing over the net instead.  Much to my surprise, I had ended up pinteresting some wedding finds which is a big irony for an old-maid-in-the-making like me!

Well, I just found browsing on such photos so calming to the mind, imagining a wedding in spring when flowers are in full bloom…..Hey, hey, hey!  But there ain’t no spring here in the Philippines!  So might as well have a wedding in a summer when there is only little chance of rain.....  Dream on, girl!  Lol!  But anyway, here are now the gorgeous photos of a rustic garden wedding which made me gaga over them!

Now can you blame me for falling in love with these pretty interesting wedding ideas?  Who knows that someday, somehow, this old-maid-in-the-making would go and find her groom!  And that this wedding fantasy won’t just be a fantasy at all.  I might not be that kind of person who dreams toooo much to be tied up in wedding, but I still believe in joining up with someone in mutual weirdness forever!  Ayeeee!!!

Anyhow, I just can’t get enough Pinteresting!  I must be soooo sick that I got the name of my sickness now as Pinterest Fever!
