#12daysto32 Day -18: A Day with the Chogs

And I'll never get tired posting for my birth month!  It's gonna end tomorrow, anyway!  I'm just overly elated that for this year, I had "somehow" celebrated with my chogs (My Adventures - Afternoon Delight) minus Jamie. Hey, we miss you in here!

First stop was Ruth's place where we had a sumptuous lunch prepared by her very beautiful mom, Tita Be Lan.  Thank you, Tita for the oysters!  Yum!

Baby Naiah is the Prettiest <3
Second stop was at La Cebuana to visit Charmagne and her very pretty baby also.  We're looking forward for this baby to grow up and become an artista.  Then we will just be her alalays.  Hehe.....

Third stop was checking into Mary Joy's MJ H&M Boutique, Travel & Tours-Ozamiz and Mariel's Ameerah's Closet which I'll be hopefully blogging tomorrow.  So watch out for it!

Selfie at MJ's
Groufie at Mariel's
Fourth stop was meeting with our other high school batch mates at Greenwich.

With Princess, Basyang, Quennie, and Tessa (batch Jicor's wify)
Fifth stop was a quick talk at Farronccino Cafe.

Sixth stop was of course at yours truly, Fascino by Maria Rosalia.  At last, it's not only me on my selfie mirror!  I have now company.  Hehe....

Seventh stop was at Cherry Ann's place where we also tasted her mom's cooking again.  Tita Lorna's macaroni salad was love! <3  We were also goofing around Doc Cherry's pamangkins who are all soooo adorable!

Eighth stop was to let Ruth experience Tuslob Buwa at The BBQ Station this time with Sandy and Queenie.  Oh, she was just like Kris Aquino with her skin, outfit, and all.  Thanks for the treat, Ruthie! :)

Then onto our ninth and last stop, Ruth's crib for a tequila night!  We had a very looooong talk about love, life, marriage, business, and career.  It was such an enriching myriad of convos for us with our varied background and experiences.  I learned a lot from them.  Though some are not yet applicable, I can make use of 'em "in my future endeavors".  Hehe.....  Just like high school when we talked about crushes, magazines, and the latest fad, we also talked about 'em like nothing has changed.  The only difference is that, we had matured a bit over time.  But the faces we wear, it's still the same 'coz we're forever young at heart!

Thank you so much chogs for making my birth month more special and complete!  I am now excited for our next shindig-Cherry Ann's birth month celebration!!!!!  Whoopy!  That's gonna be a BLAST!

#12daysto32 Day -15: Friendship Overload

Friends come and go, they say.  I've had lots of fair share of this friendship thingy.  I can blend well and flexible thus earning me loads of circles of friends!  I can fit in to any group-jologs, brainy, meek, loud, poor, rich, simple, sosy, as in ANY!  Maybe I owe this to my Libran personality-one who wants world peace.  So I want to be at peace with everybody.

Now if you've been following me, you may notice frequent exposures of these gals through our petty pictorials.  Hehehe.....  This just brought us together-our same wavelength as Kring2x had it!

Celebrating two years of friendship with them and counting!  Missing Alvite though. :(

#12daysto32 Day -13: Wayback / Throwback / Flashback Debut

Then I reached day negative 13 of my #12daysto32 countdown!  Pagbigyan nyo na ang lola nyo #minsanlangto!  It's still my birth month, y' know.  Hehe..... So for today, I'll be sharing to you, my dear readers a super #waybackwednesday, mega #throwbackthursday, and over #flashbackfriday post!  Fourteen years ago, I celebrated my 18th birthday this same last Saturday of October.  So I went digging up some old photos of this momentous event of my life!

The gown I wore was by Ate Vangie Arellano of Jejeelyn's.  She has been doing my gowns since I was little for the sagalas I joined during Flores de Mayo.  Hair and make-up was by Aisa, mom's favorite artist whose beauty parlor I grew up in playing with his blower, combs, and pedi/mani paraphernalia.  Bouquet of flowers was by Kuya Boots, my favorite cuzzy florist.

My honorable members of the cotillion de honor.  The lords are Tootsie, Don2x, Apollo, Sandy, Ian, Kirk, Al Roy, Arthur, and Daryl.  The ladies are Vian, Rio, Hermesa, Ep2x, Jamie, Ruth, Bunny, Matoy, and Cherry Ann.  The royal dance was choreographed by Mrs. Connie Rada, a renowned Ozamiznon choreographer of all time.

Of course I also have to mention my "dashing" escort (as dubbed by my host, Mr. Federico Araniego who was beginning his career as an event coordinator and host at that time), Architect Earl Lagahid.

Blowing my 18 candles signified a big milestone in my life.  It signaled the start of womanhood and setting childish ways aside.  But as I turned 32 days ago, I realized that age is only a number 'coz I still have that child in me (as always).  My pretty cake is by Uncle Yayang of Mom's Sweet Delight who also happens to be my ninong.

Then what's a debut without surprises?  These besties just got me under their skin!  Imagine that they stole my ever beloved antique comb just for this?  I was about not to go to my belated birthday celebration just to look for my comb all over my room!  But I loved it so when I got to know how much these girls know me.  It was just so overwhelming especially with the mangga and uyap from outside Gaizano.  Hehe.....

And my sisters will kill me for this!  Just take a look at Ep2x on the first pic and Laling on the second one.  Hehe.....Just some photo bloopers of my big day.  Without my family, I would not had a bongga 18th birthday celebration.  Thank you so much, Papa and Mama for the gift of life from day zero onwards! :)

Hagardo Versoza Days!

And I'm back on track!  After almost a week, here I am writing again.  Sorry for the delayed updates, guys but I was just suuuper busy (as always)!  Since it's the end of another semester, I've been busy with grades and clearance requirements in school that until now I haven't finished yet.  And since it is also the third week of October which marks a very special celebration for Fernandez-Zacal Learning Center, Inc. (FZLC), I've been busy blowing up balloons at Fascino!  Then such busyness gives me my "Hagardo Versoza" days!

In social media, "Hagardo Versoza" had become an expression and hashtag for haggard face which is named after the then hunk actor Gardo Versoza (Machete).  Now here are our haggard faces for this week!

Hagardo Versoza Day 1! 10 dozens down, 42 more to go. Aja!
Hagardo Versoza Day 2! 24 more to go!!! Kryptonite please....
Hagardo Versoza Day 3! And we're done! Thank you so much, Lord for the strength!
Though my "kryptonite" haven't checked on me this week, it's OK 'coz I still know that he's still watching me.  Ayeeee!!!!

Only a quarter of the balloons to fill City Gym for tomorrow's event!

Happy 3rd, Fernandez-Zacal Learning Center, Inc.! More years to come!!!!

#12daysto32 Day -5: Hearty Lunch at the Mooon

It was only last night when I had written this.  It was only last night when I became more determined to keep my only hope.  But today, something unexpected came up.  From out of the blue, my friend Pen2x just texted me to have lunch with her.  It was just a casual catch-up-with-a-girl-friend kind of lunch until surprisingly, Pen2x asked me about the matter of the heart.

As a secretive person, I don't usually open up to friends with what's inside my heart.  If possible, I'd like to keep the matter of my heart all by myself.  (That's why I gave birth to this blog.  So I could just write all my heart out without reservations!)  But with Pen, I couldn't hide a thing from her with the kind of prangka questions she threw at me.  It was like being on a hot seat with Boy Abunda where you can just answer back and admit some feelings.  Then she gave me what she quoted as "unsolicited advice".  It only took a few minutes for her to nail it!  She directly shot the target which made me into thinking, up and awake until 2 AM!

Definitely, everything she said were all so true.  By now, I have to admit that I've been living in illusion.  Last summer, I had written this - my way of saying goodbye.  But I didn't do it completely for I still held on to the fantasy.  I think it's about time that I must reiterate my way of saying goodbye.  On contrary to what Pen said, I couldn't, couldn't confront him for a closure.  As what Steph said in Maybe This Time, "Sometimes not having closure is the closure!".  I couldn't demand that from him so I'll just have it by myself.  I just hope that this time, it will work out.

After years of keeping him in my heart, again I say that I'm now letting him go.  This is for the better, this is for my growth.  Not being teary-eyed while writing this I think, is a good sign unlike before.  Maybe this time, I'll be starting over again.  Ok, fine!  So be it!  If this is God's will, then I'm heeding it.  Though I am not heeding heartily, I'll just let it be.  For what else can I do?  He is God and I am not.  It just confuses me why He even gives us freewill if He still controls our fate?  He intervenes a lot, as in a lot!  With my career and with this, it just sucks!  Ooops, sorry.  I think I might just stop this before I sin any further.  Sorry, Lord but I guess people need someone/something to blame for the misfortune, the misery, and the misadventure they have......

Anyway, thanks Pen at nauntog na rin ako!  You are heaven-sent for me to wake up to my senses!

Feature Friday: Punta Meriam Beach Resort and Spa

Feature Friday highlights businesses, people, fashion, and basically anything under the sun!

Celebrating my birthdays for two consecutive years outside Ozamiz had been helpful for me to forget that it's my birthday on that day.  Last 2012 was in Albay and last 2013 was in Iloilo.  I did that 'coz I wanted to forget my special day so I won't feel lonesome in any sense.  And since we (JCI-Ozamiz Red Rose) missed NatCon this year, I ain't got a birthday destination but I'm beyond glad to have had celebrated the actual day of my birthday with my family.

So with this, my birthday for this year deserved another destination!  And I'm happy that there's Punta Meriam Beach Resort and Spa which is only a 40-minute drive away from Ozamiz.  There's no hassle bringing kids over for we don't have to endure a very long drive with kulit ones.

Punta Meriam Beach Resort and Spa is conveniently located just a few meters away from the public market of Panaon, Misamis Occidental.  It is accessible to any vehicle because the road leading to it is not bumpy.  Right from the hustle and bustle of the highway, you'll enter a tranquil place where you can see a vast expanse of the sea.

Aside from the beach, Punta Meriam also has a swimming pool for the kids to enjoy.  For swimmers out there, you won't like it because you can't have a fill of it.  It is only good for kids and for pictorial purposes.

Since I'm into much pictorial, I enjoyed the place quite pretty well for its rustic design.  I love the details of their wood works and they are Instagram and Pinterest worthy.

Other amenities are the resort basics - a function hall, clean toilet and bath, cottages for day use and rooms for overnight use.  However, since the name says "Beach Resort and Spa", we haven't found any spa at all.  And when we asked the staff about their massage, they simply replied that there's no hilot available.  Hehe.  Maybe the hilot is on call.

Cottages
Anyway, they also have beach volley, boating and island hopping to a sand bar which we haven't tried anymore.  But the kids enjoyed their kayak session spearheaded by cuzzy Rio.

And what I like about the resort is the safety they give to their guests.  The life guards are so strict in looking closely to each child in tow.  With that, you don't have to keep watch all day so you can also have some time to catch up with the others, have some me time to do muni-muni, or take a nap while enjoying the calming sea breeze.

If the kids enjoyed, then that makes a happy tita!  Tag along the whole family for a fun-filled day at Punta Meriam Beach Resort and Spa.  I suggest that you bring your own food and beverage because it's corkage-free so you don't have to buy inside the resort.  Food inside costs an arm and a leg, you know.  Visit their FB page here for more information!

#12daysto32 Day -4: Matter of the Heart

Last year I promised not to be sentimental on my birthday for I'm already too old for that!  Last year I also promised that that would be my last birthday to celebrate alone.  But another year had passed and I am still "alone".  Quote and quote, you know what that means.  So for this year, I'm trying hard to be happy for me not to feel alone.  But regardless of the flash flood of birthday greetings, regardless of the abundance, regardless of the gifts received, and regardless of the people who love me, I still feel alone.

Then my decision on not throwing a big party is quite good.  For when the lights are off and when the party's over, I will still realize that I am indeed alone.  And for tonight that the tides are already down and I have some downtime to reflect, I am sharing to you the matter of the heart.  But this is not a desperate-mode post.  I thought I might give you a disclaimer first for I already developed a habit on that.  On contrary, this is a post of keeping the faith and in tightening my belt on what really is to come.

Again, I'm reminded of what God intends me to be.  Though there are still complaints and grumbles, I am still under process.  I can't say that I had accepted this fully.  It is still hard, you know.  Still pitiful as I can say.  But as of the moment, I am clinging to only one hope that spices up my life every now and then.  I don't know but God is just a joker god for allowing this to happen to me!  At least I have this to hold on to.  Though it might just be an illusion, at least I am having something to live for.

Well, the story still continues.  Who would've thought and who would've guessed?  The rest is still unwritten.....

#12daysto32 Day -3: Foot Spa Party at Ai Sui House of Beauty

And the celebrations continue!  There are still 15 more days before my birth month would end so make-the-most-out-of-it lang ang peg ng lola nyo!  It's a great thing that my sissy is still in town to sponsor a foot spa party.  Hehe....  Scroll down below for photos of our fun-filled afternoon at Ai Sui House of Beauty.

As we all know, the feet carry our total body weight.  The feet go here, go there, go everywhere!  The feet are the most abused part of our body especially mine since I always stand during classes, stand in blowing and printing balloons at the store, and walk from school to store to house, vice versa.  So for today, my feet deserve a pamper-me session!  Foot spa, foot massage, and pedicure totally make happy feet!

What a relaxing aftie we had that I've dozed off!  The gentle strokes of the massage just made me give in.

A cupcake for the sweet tooth and a hot tea for detoxification.  Thank you so much to the kind staff of Ai Sui House of Beauty!  I was wearing a two-toned bangle from Mrs. Rita Co, slip-ons from Mama, and dangling dolphin earrings from me.  Thanks for the company, Cheryl and Marlon!  Happy feet equals happy us!

Visit Ai Sui House of Beauty along Gomez St. and DABA, Ozamiz City or you may check their other treatments here for more information.
